Sundays

Ferries, buses and aluguers on a Sunday in Cape Verde

Short answer

No Cape Verdean operator publishes a separate Sunday timetable. On a Sunday you plan with what is published: CV InterIlhas lists sailings by date, Sol Atlântico’s office hours show Sunday as closed, and nobody publishes when aluguers run. Check the date, buy tickets ahead, and ask locally the day before.

Ferries

CV InterIlhas publishes its schedule date by date, a few weeks ahead, not as a weekday pattern: open the routes page on your Sunday. Tickets must be bought at least 1 h 30 before departure, and can be bought online on any day.

Praia’s city buses

Sol Atlântico publishes no Sunday timetable. The opening hours on its website list Sunday as closed — so buy the bus card on a weekday. Trip bundles can be topped up online.

Aluguers, taxis and Mindelo’s buses

No source publishes Sunday service for aluguers. The tourism board says the shared vans may only run at certain times of the day in some areas, and its figures for São Vicente’s buses — 9 daytime and two night routes — come without any day-of-week detail. Taxis remain the fallback; agree the fare first.

Public holidays

No operator we checked publishes a public-holiday pattern either. CV InterIlhas lists sailings by date, so a holiday simply shows what sails that day; Sol Atlântico’s site gives opening hours by weekday and posts changes on its news page, with no holiday timetable; the national transport portal and the tourism board say nothing about aluguers on a holiday. Treat a public holiday exactly like a Sunday: open the ferry schedule for the date, buy ahead, and ask locally the day before.

Questions travellers ask

Do ferries sail on Sundays?

It depends on the line and the date. The operator publishes sailings by date, so open the schedule for the Sunday you need.

Can I buy a Praia bus card on a Sunday?

Plan not to: the opening hours on Sol Atlântico’s website list Sunday as closed, and a card has to be bought in person.

Do aluguers run on Sundays?

Nobody publishes it. The tourism board says the vans may only run at certain times of the day in some areas; ask locally the day before, and keep a taxi as plan B.
